GEAR FOUNDATIONTM INFORMATION

COMMUNITY CENTER 2641 West 14th St. Provides alternative social activities and events. Open for use by gay groups. Meeting place for GEAR committees and rap groups.

HOTLINE Provides Community outreach through HOTLINE telephones. Acts as an information center, referral source for legal, medical, counseling and social events.

HIGH GEAR Is responsible for the writing, layout, printing and distribution of "HIGH GEAR," which covers item of interest to the Community and is distributed throughout Ohio and in adjoining states.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES COMMITTEE Provides speakers to Community and civic groups to explain the GEAR FOUNDATION'S purpose and services. LIGHT (Lesbians in GEAR helping together) Women's coordinating committee of GEAR. Provides two ongoing women's rap groups, "WOMEN WITH WOMEN" one which is a place to explore sexual identities and the other which is an open rap. Also provides a channel for the particular needs of the Lesbian Community to be met. ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE Plans activities and events for the GEAR FOUNDATION.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE Plans. organizes and coordinates benefits, activities and events for the GEAR FOUNDATION.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE Liaison committee between the GEAR FOUNDATION and other Gay organizations on the Local, State and National level. Provides the communication channel for incoming and outgoing information between GEAR and these groups.

COMMUNITY this month is pleased to introduce the TOGETHER COFFEEHOUSE. The coffeehouse will be held at the Gay Community Center on the first and third Saturday of each month with opening day scheduled for April 18th. Hours will be from 7:30 til 12 P.M. and opening nite entertainment will be provided by VICTOR BROOKS and WESLEY MALONE DOING Folk. All men and women are invited to attend.

Admission is free and light food and coffee and tea will be sold. Chess, checkers and backgamin games will be available also for those who wish to play.

Future plans include a "MOVIE NITE' on May 2nd and beginning in June a 'Spagetti Dinner Nite.' If you would be interested in performing or in helping with the Coffeehouse please call 621-6546 and leave a message for Brian or Sharon.
